In Tierra Estella any time of year is the right time to get to know and participate in its Feast Days and traditions. During the year, pilgramages are made to the many chapels that dot the mountain landscape: Nuestra Señora de Codés, Santiago de Lóquiz, San Gregorio Ostiense, la Trinidad de Iturgoyen or Nuestra Señora del Puy in Estella are just some of them.
May is the traditional month for the pilgrimages and these celebrations are also held during other months of the year. Carnival and Easter Week are also two important events for showing off the region's many traditions. Some villages such as Andosilla, still stage Passion Plays in a performance that is watched by thousands of people every year.
However, summer is the time when Tierra Estella is converted into a truly festive place; July, August and September are the main months when the Patron Saint Feast Days are celebrated, with bullfights, music and gastronomy, turning the streets of the villages into an open, participative event in which everyone takes part.
The Feast Days of Estella, held during the first week of August, are the centre point of all the regional Feast Days.
During the year, traditional markets, cultural programmes and festivals are also held in different towns of Tierra Estella.
