Home: 10 Proposals > Brief description
Brief descriptionTierra Estella is divided up from east to west by the Jacobean Route. To the north of the route are mountains, woodlands and tiny villages nestling in the highlands and horizons closed by natural stone rings. Villages made of stone and wood, with fountains, ponds and washing places, mediaeval churches, open lintels and the aroma of the mountain. To the south, meadows, fields, open spaces and croplands where rivers rest on their way to the Ebro. The plain is dotted with villages, hillocks or river banks. The spaces become larger and the aroma is more of wheat, vegetables, earth and irrigation ditches, fruit and wine, oil presses, Baroque air and popular pilgrimages in May. Tierra Estella is a proposal for enjoying the best of Navarra, its very essence and to tread its many paths, enjoy the company of its people, relive its history and listen to the sounds of the open, natural settings. In our brief route through Tierra Estella we will visit ten milestones, ten proposals, but without forgetting other visits, other nooks, other perspectives. These are just ten proposals for discovering and enjoying this part of Navarra.
